Lee Edward Neuenschwander, age 81, of Monticello and formerly of Maple Lake, passed away Monday, May 16, 2016, at CentraCare Health in Monticello. Funeral service will be Friday, May 20, at 1 p.m. at the Peterson-Grimsmo Chapel, 250 East Broadway, Monticello, with visitation one hour prior to the service on Friday. Mary Jane Klein Puncochar, age 80, of Monticello, passed away at her home on June 19, 2016. Mary Jane was born on January 5, 1936, in Monticello, to Paul and Marie Klein. She married Raymond Puncochar on September 24, 1976. She worked for Monticello Schools, was an avid reader, and loved her garden. Mary Jane was a devoted wife, loving sister, caring aunt and dear friend. She will be remembered for her kind spirit.
Preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; parents, Paul and Marie Klein; brothers, James and Robert. Survived by brothers, Paul (Dianne) and William; sisters, Ann Klein and Joyce (Barry) Peterson; nieces and nephews; grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Floyd C. Johnson, age 77, of Annandale, died August 12, 2016 at his home with his family at his side.
Memorial Services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 18, at Our Saviour’s Lutheran in French Lake with Rev. Edward Groop officiating. Burial will follow at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, South Haven. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service, Thursday, at the church.
Floyd Carlos Johnson was born June 20, 1939, in French Lake to Reynold and Bernice (Walberg) Johnson. He was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church near French Lake. Floyd grew up in French Lake and attended Annandale High School. He worked in construction for Elk River Bituminous and Mid-Minnesota Hot Mix; he also was self-employed as an over-the-road truck driver and a farmer. Floyd enjoyed fishing, hunting and watching the birds.
He is survived by his life companion of 34 years, Myrtle Bailey of Annandale; nine children, Kristi Lee of Aurora, CO, Tammy Johnson of Brainerd, Anne Schultz of Annandale, Julie (Kelly) Danelke of South Haven, Rob (Bobbie) Johnson of Clearwater, Cindy (Ken) Steckler of Bismark, ND, David (Danne) Miller of Buffalo, Linda (Roger) Marschel of Big Lake, Karen Bullert of Albertville and Heather (Doug) Sanders of Brooklyn Park; 18 grandchildren, Josh, Boomer, Nicole, Cody, Zach, Shauni, Caitlin, Brian, Laura, Shelley, Kristin, Candice, Ryan, Rebecca, Garrett, Haley, Abby and Nick; nine great-grandchildren, Morgan, Mason, Mya, Eden, Harrison, Ethan, Logan, Gilbert and Eli; sisters and brother, Lorraine (Jerry) Hicks of Blaine, Karen (Mike) Carlisle of Deerwood, Donna (Butch) Reil of St. Michael and Duane Johnson of Annandale; and sisters-in-law, Sharon and Marlene Johnson. Floyd is preceded in death by his parents, Reynold and Bernice Johnson; and brothers, Harlen and Melvin Johnson.

George S. Nothnagel, age 94, of Buffalo, formerly of Maple Lake, died Thursday, August 18, 2016, at his residence in Buffalo, surrounded by the love and care of his family.
Mass of Christian Burial was held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 24, at St. Timothy Catholic Church, Maple Lake, with Fr. John Meyer as Celebrant. Visitation was held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake, with a prayer service at 6:30 p.m. Visitation continued from 9:00-10:00 a.m. on Wednesday also at the funeral chapel. Burial was at Woodlawn Cemetery, Annandale.
George Sylvester Nothnagel was born October 7, 1921, in Kimball, Minnesota, to George and Angeline (Creteier) Nothnagel. George grew up and attended school in Kimball. On May 1, 1951, George was united in marriage to Patricia Dearing at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Annandale. He worked in Crosby and Hibbing before moving his family to Maple Lake in 1961. George worked as a groundman for Wright-Hennepin Co-op for 20 years until his retirement in 1986. He was a jack-of-all-trades, helping all of his children finish their homes. George enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing cards.
George is survived by his wife of 65 years, Pat of Buffalo; children, Dennis Nothnagel of Coon Rapids, Patricia (Dale) Nygaard of Howard Lake and Tim (Marilee) Nothnagel of Owatonna; daughter-in-law, Susan Nothnagel of Buffalo; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; sisters, Angeline Eisenreich of Crosby and Delores Spaude of St. Cloud; and many other family members and friends. George was preceded in death by his son, Jeffrey; parents, George and Angeline; brothers, Gus, Jack, Andy, Clarence, Leonard and Ervin Nothnagel; an infant brother; and sisters, Helen Loch, Theresa Janisch and Mary Leudders.
The urn bearers were Courtney, Jeremy and Tyler Nothnagel, Stacy and April Nygaard, Kelsey Schoen, Kara Becker, Jenny Carlson and Sara Stemper. Arrangements are entrusted to Dingmann Funeral Care Burial & Cremation Services of Maple Lake.
Ruth (Wright) Vaa, of St. Cloud, was born on July 14, 1924, in St. Louis, Mo. to parents, Earl and Carrie (Jacobson) Wright. She passed away August 26, 2016, at the age of 92 at the St. Cloud Hospital. Ruth is survived by two daughters, Judy (Vaa) and Jerry VanDenEinde of St. Joseph, Sandy (Vaa) and Keith Sather of Maple Lake, one son, Harry Vaa of Lester Prairie; one sister, Grace Taylor of Columbus, Ohio; one brother, Glenn Wright of Genoa, Il; 13 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Carrie (Jacobson) Wright; two husbands, Albin Vaa and Frank Duncan; three brothers, Harry Wright, Earl Wright, Frank Wright; one sister, Dorothy Ohare; and three daughters, Mary Louise Vaa, Tammy Jo Vaa, and Carrie (Vaa) Dahl.
Ruth worked as camp manager at Schroeder Park in Annandale for 33 years and retired at the age of 90 years old.
A celebration of Ruth’s life with be held Sunday, September 4, 2016, from 1-5 p.m. at the Clearwater American Legion, Clearwater. She will be buried in McIntosh, Mn at a later date.
Roger W. Riesgraf, age 92, of Maple Lake, died Sunday, August 28, 2016, at Quiet Oaks Hospice in Saint Cloud surrounded by family members, after a long battle with pancreatic cancer.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, September 1, at St. Timothy Catholic Church, Maple Lake, with Fr. John Meyer as the Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Timothy Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Wednesday and 9-10 a.m. Thursday, both at Dingmann Funeral Care Chapel, Maple Lake. Parish prayers will be at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral chapel.
“Grandpa Roger” was a dearly loved and an irreplaceable person in the lives of his family, who cannot put into words how much he will be missed. A kind, gentle soul who always put others first, he is cherished beyond measure as one who loved being with his family at the cabin, golfing with his grandkids, and reading stories to his great-grandchildren.
In Maple Lake Roger served as the Superintendent of Schools for 26 years. He was a leader in the community as well as the school system, serving in the Lions Club and other civic and church activities. He graduated from Mankato State, where Roger met Mary Ann (Mitzi) Dickmeyer of Fairfax, his wife of 60 years. Roger’s career in education also included being a physical education teacher, history teacher, football coach and school bus driver, and principal at both Hackensack and Eden Valley schools.
Roger William Riesgraf was born in Carver, Minnesota, to Mathias J. and Mary C. (Dietz) Riesgraf. A farm boy, he graduated from Chaska High School, and was named to the All-Conference team in football and was voted Most Valuable Player on the baseball team three consecutive seasons at Mankato State. When WWII broke out, he enlisted in the Army and was assigned to the 788th Amphibian Tractor Battalion. His unit landed soldiers for the first wave invasions of Leyte and Okinawa. He served with distinction and was discharged as a Technician Five with three overseas service bars.
Roger is survived by his children, William of Maple Lake, Elizabeth Riesgraf-Wyman, M.D. (Dick Wyman) of St. Cloud, Patrice (Len) Curtiss of Grand Rapids, Robert (Mary) of Becker, Susan (Dave) Anderson of Maple Grove and Jennifer (Steve) Eichten of Mounds View; 12 grandchildren, Jason, Sarah, Anne, Robert, Daniel, Joseph, Matthew, Christopher, Ellen, Steven, Carlene and Andrew; 11 great-grandchildren, Zachary, Julia, Mary, Luke, Eve, Henry, Ellie, Elias, Benjamin, Abigail and Esther; brother, Matt (Margo) of New Brighton; and sister-in-law, Emmy of Kalamazoo, MI. He is preceded in death by his parents, Mathias and Mary Riesgraf; wife, Mitzi on June 18, 2010; sister, Marion Lano; brothers, Jim, Robert and Francis; and a stillborn sister.
The casket bearers will be Dan and Joe Curtiss, Matt and Chris Riesgraf, Robert and Jason Wyman, Steve Anderson and Andrew Eichten. The lectors will be Sarah Sprengeler and Annie Gucinski and the gift bearers will be Carly Eichten and Ellen Anderson.
